ICT – Teach it, don’t fight it!

Tom Barrett’s article published in the TES on Friday 16th September makes many good points on the use of social media  in schools in the UK.

His interest and experience is mostly in primary schools, I would argue that the problem is compounded by the time youngsters are in secondary schools.

Few senior leaders in schools have much experience with social media being used to support learning, this leads to the fear Tom mentions.

Social media is here to stay and as educators we miss a great opportunity if we ignore the possibilities!
